Utilities & Safety Passport Schemes

This section includes a number of categories relating to the Utilities Industries and Safety Passport Schemes, including those for, Water, Power, Gas, Telecommunications, and other specific industry sectors. Safety Passport schemes included in the categories within this section are of the following types:

  • CCNSG (Client Contractor National Safety Group)
  • EUSR (Energy & Utility Skills Register)
  • SPA (Safety Pass Alliance)

CCNSG Courses

The CCNSG (Client Contractor National Safety Group) Safety Passport is an industry safety card for the engineering construction industry. The CCNSG Safety Passport has been developed by the ECITB (Engineering Construction Industry Training Board) to main the highest levels of safety on engineering construction sites. A valid CCNSG card is an essential to gain access to many engineering and construction sites.

Courses currently available include:

EUSR Courses

The EUSR is the Energy & Utility Skills Register. EUSR Passport schemes are entry-level training programmes relating to the energy and utilities sectors, which have been developed in collaboration with employers within the specific sectors.

There are various schemes relating to different industry sectors, including.

  • EUSR National Water Hygiene Scheme
  • EUSR SHEA Gas
  • EUSR SHEA Water
  • EUSR SHEA Telecommunications
  • EUSR SHEA Cross-Country Pipelines
  • EUSR SHEA Power
  • EUSR SHEA Waste & Resource Management (including SHEA SWITCH in Scotland)

Currently, the most commonly booked EUSR courses are:

SHEA Courses all share 6 common core modules, known as the SHEA Core and these are common to each of the Utility sector-based schemes.

SPA Courses

SPA stands for Safety Pass Alliance. The Safety Pass Alliance works with a range of industries to develop bespoke courses and safety passports are awarded to those who pass and meet the requirements of the specific schemes. Current schemes include:

  • Core Construction (CSCS)
  • Food and Drink
  • Facilities Management
  • Live Events
  • Petrol Retail
  • Vehicle Mis-Fuellers
