The Safety Pass Alliance (SPA) Scheme has been developed to enhance the knowledge and working skills of workers in a wide range of sectors including Food and Drink, Petrol Retail and Mineral Products.
Course training for the SPA Food and Drink course is over two days. The common SPA core session is the first day of training and ensures that delegates grasp the basics of good health and safety practices. The second day is focused on hygiene and food safety when working with food and drink, including, contamination (sources and effects), use of protective clothing, personal hygiene, environmental issues and waste disposal, and control measures to reduce risks.
SPA Food & Drink courses are delivered in conventional classroom-based environments across the UK.
Those who successfully complete the requirements of the two-day SPA training course and assessment will achieve certification, which is valid for three years.
Note:- The SPA passport schemes currently recognise exemptions from the SPA Core Day for delegates who have completed and passed the following training courses and have 3 months or more remaining on their evidence of exemption. These exemptions include:
Renewal course options are available for those who need to renew their SPA Passport after 3 years. This one-day renewal/refresher course can be completed up to six months prior to the passport expiring. If a passport has expired, the holder will not be eligible to attend a renewal course.
