SMSTS and Site Safety Plus

The accrediting body Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) have created a group of Site Safety Plus courses which focus on providing health and safety training for those that are required to work at all levels on a construction site including; site managers, site supervisors, the site workforce and subcontractors.

Site Safety Plus courses are run through a network of CITB accredited Training Providers and provide comprehensive training that ensures all successful delegates can work safely on site and abide to relevant legal regulations. The CITB Site Safety Plus scheme includes both full courses and refresher courses for the SSSTS and SMSTS course types.

Course Detail

SMSTS training and site safety and management training courses within this category include the following courses, which also have their own dedicated categories:

SMSTS Training (Site Management Safety Training Scheme). The five day SMSTS course is aimed at site managers.

SMSTS Refresher Course. The two day SMSTS training refresher course is targeted at site managers who have previously completed the five day SMSTS training course.

SSSTS (Site Supervisor’s Safety Training Scheme). A two day site supervisor training course for construction site supervisors.

SSSTS Refresher Course. The one day training refresher course targeted at site supervisors who have previously completed the two day SSSTS training course.

SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training). A one day course.

Directors Role for Health and Safety. A one day course aimed at company directors and senior members of management.

TWCTC (Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training Course). A two day course aimed at those who have responsibility on site for managing all forms of temporary works.

TWSTC (Temporary Works Supervisor Training). A one day course suitable for those who wish to supervise temporary works

Health and Safety Awareness. A one day course CITB course aimed at operatives working on construction sites.

Achieving Behavioural Change. This is a one day site safety training course aimed at everyone working on a construction site. This course can be applied to any construction situation and is designed to provide delegates with an understanding of how attitude, behaviour, communication and engagement at all levels can help reduce accident frequencies.

The CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is the body which administers courses within the sector and training grants for the Site Safety Plus training courses are available to CITB levy payers.
