Rigger Training Courses

Rigger safety training courses are aimed at professionals who work with rope access equipment to undertake rope access tasks in sectors such as construction, maintenance, telecommunications and repair work. The term “rigger” originally hails from the nautical industry, whereby a “rigger” would work with ship rigging to hoist sales.

Safety is a paramount concern in rope access work, and riggers must undergo rigorous training to ensure they can perform tasks safely and efficiently.

Course Detail

Courses in this category are accredited by IRATA, the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association. They range from Level 1 to Level 3 in Industrial Rope Access, covering a range of topics. Some courses cover all 3 levels, and others are dedicated to a level at a time.

Course content includes:

Movement on ropes – ascent, descent, crossing ropes and passing re-anchors.
Back up systems
Rescue techniques
Relevant legislation and safety requirements
Quality assurance procedures relating to rope access.
The IRATA certification scheme
