There are essentially three levels of qualification.

• Award Level: These introductory level NEBOSH qualifications are ideal for those who want to obtain an initial understanding of the principles of health and safety as part of their role within an organisation.
• Certificate Level: NEBOSH Certificate courses are the most popular and there a number of different courses aimed at both national and international qualifications. Certificate level qualifications generally provide an excellent foundation for managers, supervisors and people starting out on in health and safety or environmental management careers.
• Diploma Level: NEBOSH Diploma courses are targeted at those who need higher level professional qualifications and those who are planning to be health and safety or environmental practitioners.

- NEBOSH Distance Learning Courses - Course content sent via a variety of support mechanisms and email. Courses in this category include both NEBOSH certificates and diplomas.

- NEBOSH Environmental Courses - Including the Environmental Management Certificate and the Environmental Awareness at Work Award. 

- NEBOSH Health & Safety Courses - The range of NEBOSH health and safety courses include Fire Safety & Risk Management and the International Oil and Gas Certificate.

- NEBOSH  Health and Safety for Construction - Aimed specifically at Supervisors, Managers and CDM Co-ordinators in the construction sector. 

- National General Certificate - this NEBOSH course is specific to the UK and is aimed at both those who wish to undertake a career within health and safety management and those who need a general understanding of occupational health and safety issues. - National Diploma - Part of the range of NEBOSH health and safety courses dedicated to health and safety professionals or those that wish to become practicing health and safety practitioners. This is the flagship of all the NEBOSH courses.
