The Lantra Highways Sector Scheme

Lantra is an awarding body associated with the National Highway Sector Scheme (NHSS) in the UK. The scheme was created as a bespoke management system to ensure that all those working on the UK roadways are working both competently and to the same high standards. The scheme places a strong emphasis on health and safety and Lantra is an approved awarding body to accredit and administer the courses needed to work on the UK’s roads.

Course Detail

Lantra have created several courses required as part of the National Highway Sector Scheme and these include courses which focus on:

• Road surfacing and marking
• Fencing and landscaping
• Traffic management and vehicle safety restraints

Typically, these courses are suitable for those who will be completing minor work on rural or urban roads. For those who will be working more extensively on the roads, a City and Guilds New Roads and Street Works course may be more appropriate.  

Training courses in this category include:

• LANTRA 12D Temporary Traffic Management Basic Course (classroom based and online classroom options both available)
• Highway Safety Inspection - C&G 6033 (301 & 311) with LANTRA
• LANTRA Highway Sector Scheme - 12D T7 (M7) - Managers & Client Officers

Course Delivery

Lantra courses are delivered primarily in classroom-based environments, however certain courses do have online classroom options available.
