IOSH E-Learning Courses

IOSH E-learning courses are available for those who wish to complete an IOSH qualification outside of the traditional classroom environment. E-learning courses are suitable for those who do not have time to be away from the workplace or prefer to work at their own pace at home.

These courses are available to start immediately online and include full tutor support. 

IOSH Course Detail

The IOSH courses currently offered in an e-learning environment are the IOSH Working Safely and the IOSH Managing Safely courses.

IOSH Working Safely E-learning Course

This course typically requires the candidate to study for six to eight hours and is suitable for those who wish to understand how to identify common hazards and improve safety performance.

Topics covered include:

• Defining hazard and risk.
• Common hazards and how to identify them.
• Improving safety performance.
• Protecting the environment.

Learners will have to complete a multiple-choice assessment and hazard spotting exercise successfully in order to achieve the IOSH Working Safely certificate.

The IOSH Working Safely certificate is valid for life.

It is important to note that the CSCS will only accept an IOSH Working Safely certificate which has been achieved through classroom-based learning when candidates are applying for the CSCS Labourers ‘Green’ card.

IOSH Managing Safely E-learning Course

This course typically requires candidates to study for between twenty-four and thirty-two hours and is suitable for those who have responsibilities for health and safety management within the workplace.

Topics covered include:

• Assessing and controlling risks
• Investigating incidents
• The responsibilities of health and safety management
• Measuring performance

Learners will have to complete a multiple-choice assessment and a workplace risk assessment successfully in order to achieve the IOSH Managing Safely certificate.

The IOSH Managing Safely certificate is valid for life however, holders of the qualification can complete a classroom-based qualification in order to learn about any relevant updates to health and safety legislation if they wish.

Course Delivery

IOSH e-learning courses are delivered remotely, using video clips and short films alongside interactive content and learning activities. Each candidate will have their own secure learning account and can access course content 24/7 through tablet, smartphone and/or computer.
