Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) Ride on Roller Training Courses are aimed at operatives of ride on rollers. This CPCS course covers both practical and theoretical aspects to operating a ride on roller, with the CPCS technical test at the end.
Operatives with less than 2 years consistent experience in the role as ride on roller operative must take a Foundation/Novice course, whereas those with over 2 years recent and consistent experience may apply for the Experienced Worker course. Both lead to the same CPCS certification, which is the Red CPCS card in this category, however the Experienced Worker course is moderately shorter in duration and covers the content in less detail than the Foundation CPCS training courses.
All delegates must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the past 2 years before the course start date. Those who receive the CPCS Red Card will have to retrain within 2 years to keep this qualification or achieve the NVQ in Plant Operations to upgrade to the Blue Competence CPCS card.
Private individuals looking to undertake ride on roller training and obtain the Red CPCS card for this category should read our guidelines for CPCS Training and the Private Individual before applying.
A Ride on Roller training course ensures that those operating Ride on Rollers are competently and safely trained to carry out the role.
All CPCS training course categories and experience level variants end with the CPCS Theory and Practical Test.
The Ride on Roller training course can be run on its own but is often combined with the Forward Tipping Dumper category.
