Both CPCS A21 and CPCS A22 courses are aimed at those operating Loading Shovels in a construction environment, and both lead to qualifications for the holder to carry a red CPCS card (trained operator), which will be valid for 2 years.
The two CPCS training course categories available for loading shovel training are:
Candidates must choose whether to apply for either CPCS A21: Wheeled Loading Shovel or CPCS A22: Tracked Loading Shovel depending on which machine they currently work with; if both, then both CPCS courses need to be taken separately to gain each CPCS certification.
Please note it is also possible to apply to take just the CPCS Technical Tests relating to these courses.
All delegates must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test no more than two years before the CPCS course start date and have a good understanding of both spoken and written English.
Private individuals wishing to undertake CPCS training for loading shovels (wheeled or tracked) should read the following information before enquiring or applying for a course, as the implications for a private individual are very different to those of a candidate applying through a CITB registered company. CPCS Training and the Private Individual
Experienced workers with over 2 years recent experience working with loading shovels may apply for an Experienced Worker CPCS course (typically 2 days); if you do not fit into this category, then you will need to take a Foundation/Novice Loading Shovel CPCS course instead.
Loading shovel training courses will provide delegates with a comprehensive understanding of operating the loading shovel, including practical and theoretical knowledge. The aim is to ensure candidates can carry out their role in a competent, safe manner after passing both the CPCS theory and practical tests.
This course also includes elements of maintenance to ensure the loading shovel is always operating correctly.
Foundation and Experienced Worker course content will be very similar, with foundation candidates given more time over a longer duration to undertake both theoretical and practical training before sitting the CPCS technical test for this category.
Please check the Dates section for open courses in the CPCS (A21 & A22) - Loading Shovel - Wheeled & Tracked category, or for more general help or further information please send an enquiry to enquiries@bookmycourse.co.uk.
