The CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Course is one of the courses within the CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (SITS). The Basic Scaffold Inspection Course is a three-day course aimed at those responsible for carrying out statutory scaffold inspections on basic scaffold structures in accordance with the Working at Height Regulations.
Delegates attending the Basic Scaffold Inspection Course must have awareness and experience of scaffolding structures and meet one of the following eligibility criteria. Eligible delegates must either hold a current CISRS Scaffolder, Advanced or Supervisor Card, or hold a current or expired CISRS Basic Inspection card and wish to attend the course in order to renew their card.
Note: Managers, Contract and Site Managers who do not qualify under one of the eligibility criteria above and do not hold an existing CISRS card, may also need to attend the course. In this case delegates will need to submit a CV and or/certificates, together with a letter from an employer confirming their awareness and experience of scaffolding structures, over a minimum of period of 2 years.

Delegates will be assessed using a multiple-choice question format at the end of the course.
This course is delivered at CISRS training centres located across the UK, and centres undergo annual audits to ensure they continually meet CISRS Scheme Criteria.
Individuals who gain a CISRS Scaffolding Inspection Training Scheme (SITS) Basic Inspection Certificate can apply for a CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection card. They must also be able to demonstrate that they have a valid CITB Health Safety Environment Test (or recognised exemption) completed within 2 years.
CISRS Basic Scaffold Inspection Cards are valid for a period of 5 years at which stage they will expire, and it will be necessary to re-qualify.
