CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor

The CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor course is a 5-day programme and is aimed at those providing first line supervision for scaffolding contractors, for example, Contracts Managers, Site Managers and Supervisors.

Having an individual in a supervisory role helps to improve overall health and safety on a construction site, including risk management, inspections, compliance with regulations, record keeping and also helps to improve the efficiency of the work being done.

CISRS Supervisor Course Detail

The Supervisor course will train candidates to acquire a suitable supervisory knowledge and management skill that is tailored to the contract scaffolding industry.

Course content includes:

  • A legal overview and Health & Safety law
  • Health and safety management
  • HSE ACOP’s and guidance
  • Performance standards, including British and European Standards, NASC Safety and Technical Guidance, and Design Engineering Appreciation
  • Employment Basics
  • Supervisory Skills, including planning and organisation, materials and logistics, competence and allocation of duties, effective supervision, commissioning and handover, statutory scaffold inspections, inspection practices, and effective communications.
  • Commercial essentials, including NASC commercial guidance, sales, estimating and surveying, managing variations. etc.

Delegates are required to sit a written test and submit a project which contributes to the overall assessment.

Successful delegates will receive a Certification along with their CISRS Scaffold Supervisor card.

Course Delivery

Courses are delivered at CISRS training centres located across the UK, and centres undergo annual audits to ensure they continually meet CISRS Scheme criteria.

Individuals who gain a CISRS Supervisor Certificate can apply for a CISRS Supervisor card. They must also be able to demonstrate that they have a valid CITB Health Safety Environment Test (or recognised exemption) completed within 2 years.

CISRS Supervisor cards are valid for 5 years. Delegates will be required to attend a CISRS 2 Day Supervisor Refresher Course to renew their card.
