AET Training Courses

Award in Education and Training (AET) courses were introduced in 2014/2015 to replace the traditional PTLLS, CTLLS and DTLLS qualifications. The three AET courses in the education and training suite of courses are:

• AET Level 3 Award in Education and Training (formally PTLLS)
• AET Level 4 Award in Education and Training (formally CTLLS)
• AET Level 5 Award in Education and Training (formally DTLLS)

Course Detail

AET courses are for those who wish to embark on a teaching career in the lifelong learning sector (Level 3), or those who wish to further their career having recently started teaching.

Course topics vary based on the Level being taken, but as a generalisation, topics cover:

• Teaching, learning and assessment in education and training.
• Developing, using and organising resources in education and training.
• Time management
• Personal development
• The roles and responsibilities in education and training

Course Delivery

The AET courses that we can offer are available as an e-learning option, with all training and assessments being completed online bar observations which must be completed by a suitably qualified mentor of the candidate’s choice.

If a group of candidates wish to complete the training as a classroom based-course, a dedicated course at your venue can be arranged.

AET Education and Training courses are provided by a number of Ofqual regulated awarding organisations including TQUK (Training Qualifications UK), Pearson Education, HABC, CIEH and others.
