CITB (ABC) - Achieving Behavioural Change Training

This one-day CITB training course is part of the Site Safety Plus range of CITB courses. It is in line with the existing ACoP and Guidance for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

The course content is aimed at all persons working on a construction site and the training given is designed to be applied to any given construction situation. This is a particularly key CITB course for those tasked with adopting behavioural change relating to site safety in a construction setting.

Successful delegates will receive a CITB Construction Skills Certificate which will be valid for 5 years.

CITB Course Detail

This CITB course is designed to achieve changes in behaviours and put new behaviours into practice on a construction site.

This will include training to gain a higher level of understanding of how attitude, behaviour, communication and worker and contractor engagement at all levels can help prevent the chances of accidents occurring on site.

This CITB course includes the following elements:

• The basic legal duties imposed on both employers and employees with regards to site safety.
• How to define hazards, risks and control measures.
• How to correctly and legally list possible accident-risks.
• Understanding the link between attitude and behaviour.
• How poor safety performance can impact a construction firm, including associated costs.
• Understanding the benefits of good safety performance.
• Putting the training learnt in the ABC course into practice, using the STAARR (Stop, Think, Assess, Act, Report and Review) assessment system and the TASK (Think first, Act safe, Stop if hazardous and Keep safe) card.
