Who Should Attend?
This one-day Temporary Works Supervisor Training Course (TWSTC) is designed to help those on site who have responsibility for supervising all forms of temporary works. The course seeks to improve the knowledge of this role and the temporary works environment.
Introduction
Temporary works are safety- and business-critical and require careful co-ordination. An accepted way of achieving this is through the adoption of the management process outlined in BS 5975, which introduces the temporary works supervisor (TWS) as a key figure. This course explains the role and its overall management context.
Temporary works on both smaller and larger sites can be high risk activities. Therefore, understanding the essentials of good risk and safety management, as outlined in BS 5975, is relevant for projects of all sizes.
The temporary works Supervisor training course will outline the key role of temporary works supervision and the management systems used to supervise temporary works while also ensuring that everything is operating in a safe and efficient manner. The learners will be taught the importance of Communication, coordination, cooperation and competency (The 4C’s), in addition to this the course ensures that the learners are familiar with BS5975, which gives guidelines on controls for how temporary works should be managed and supervised effectively and the key role of temporary works supervision.
Course Content:
The course will cover 5 modules of temporary works risk management to assist you through the Planning, Design and implementation stages, this will include identifying temporary works, preparing design briefs and establishing design check categories, Risk classification, permits, temporary works registers, design check certification, experience checks and all this encompasses the role of Temporary Works Supervisor (TWS).

Certificate
Site Safety Plus Accredited – valid for 5 years. Candidate’s achievements will be listed in the Construction Training Register.

Each learner will require:

- A suitable environment to take the course where you won’t be disturbed
- Access to your publications emailed to you prior to course commencement
