TWCTC Training (CITB) Refresher - Temporary Works Co-ordinator Training - Online Classroom

Who Attends: For the TWCTC Refresher, only learners who have completed the TWCTC or TWCTC Refresher in the last five years are eligible to attend. Please note that candidates must hold an in-date certificate and those who hold expired certificates, will need to take the two-day CITB Temporary Works Co-ordinator course again. 

Course Content & Aim:

The main of these courses is to focus on the process of co-ordination of temporary works, commonly expressed through the role of the TWC. Candidates will improve their knowledge of this role and the temporary works environment.

Candidates will have an aunderstanding of the law and standards relating to Temporary Works, alongside how to accurately record details of temporary works in a register. 

Knowledge:

Learners are expected to have a working knowledge of the following legislation: 

  • Health and Safety at Work ect Act 1974
  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  • Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007
  • Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015
  • Provision and Use of Work Equipment  Regulations 1998
  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998
  • The Personal Protective Equipment Regulations 1992
  • The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992
  • The Work at Height Regulations 2005

Methods:

Training Activity

- Slide led presentation – trainer providing information and asking questions
- Group exercises
- Course workbook

Assessment process

There are assessment activities:

- Multiple choice and written question exam
- Completion of two mandatory exercises
- Completing the learner personal review
- A trainer review

Certification: Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years. 

Online Training: 

Please note that for online training, candidates will require:

- A form of photo ID
- A quiet room, free from distractions, to complete the course in 
- A laptop/computer with webcam, microphone, speakers and fast internet connection (tablets/smartphones are not suitable)
