Summary
This course provides an introduction to health, safety and environmental issues for those requiring an understanding of their legal responsibilities relevant to their work activities. It will provide a sound knowledge base to enable them to give valuable assistance in safely supervising a construction site.

This course is for first line managers – those who have to, or are about to, acquire supervisory responsibilities.
Course Content
Day One:
- Health and safety law
- Developing a health and safety management system
- Occupational health
- Fire prevention and control
- Risk assessments & method statements
- Hazardous substances
- Group exercise
Day Two:
- Construction (Design and Management) Regulations
- Working at height
- Personal protective equipment
- Manual handling
- Accidents and first aid
- Toolbox talk presentations
- Examination
On Completion
The method of assessment will be by multiple-choice questions at the end of the course as well as being expected to be interactive during the course and developing and presenting a toolbox talk. Successful delegates will receive a CITB certificate valid for 5 years, renewed by attending a 1 day refresher course.
Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.
