First line managers who have, or are about to acquire supervisory responsibilities for their role within the construction industry. Course Aims:
The SSSTS – Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme course aims to ensure delegates have an overview of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. This course is intended to give site supervisors a clear understanding of how health and safety affects their role and the practical steps they can take to ensure a safe site.
On Successful completion of this course, delegates should be able to:
- Understand the problems of the industry - Have an understanding of how health and safety law is structured and how it applies to supervisors - Identify how their supervisory role fits in with the management structure in controlling the site safely - Carry out risk assessments and understand the need for method statements - Carry out effective site inductions, toolbox talks and method statement briefings - Be able to monitor site activities effectively - Understand the importance of timely intervention when bad practice is identified
Assessment:
There is a practical element to this course where you will undertake a classroom based exercise.
Certification:
Upon successful completion, delegates will achieve a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for 5 years.

The Site Supervisors Safety (SSSTS) training scheme can be used as a precursor to attendance on the five-day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course and is endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) as the standard training for all supervisors working on UKCG sites.
The course focuses on:
- Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 - Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 - Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.

- A laptop/computer with webcam, microphone, speakers and fast internet connection
- A form of photo ID
- A quiet room to complete the course in
