Course Overview
The SSSTS Course is designed for employees who have responsibility for the supervision of staff within the construction industry. It is very important that supervisors have an understanding of the key Health & safety requirements relevant to their role.
This course also provides an understanding of the legal requirements and duties of the employer that will enable improved contribution to the instruction, supervision and monitoring to ensure to the safe delivery of Health & Safety on site.
Course Content
The Points covered will include:
· How Health & Safety law is structured and how it applies to Supervisors.
· How the supervisory role fits in with the control and management of the site.
· The problems of the construction industry.
· How to carry out Risk Assessments and Method Statements and importance.
· The importance of timely intervention when bad practice is identified.
· How to carry out effective site inductions, tool box talks and method statement briefings.
· How to manage site activities effectively
There will be exercises during the course, at the end of the course candidates will take a multiple-choice examination with results given on the day and a tutor review will also be undertaken.
