SSSTS (CITB) - Supervisor Site Safety Training Scheme

This two-day SSSTS course is for site supervisors.

You will learn about your legal responsibilities regarding health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.

This two-day course is designed for those who are looking to, or have, supervisory responsibilities. It provides them with health, safety, welfare and environmental issue knowledge, as well as their legal responsibilities relevant to work activities on a building site. This course will highlight the importance of health and safety and how to supervise these effectively.

SSSTS course is endorsed by Build UK as the standard training for all supervisors working on Build UK sites.

Course Entry Requirements

Delegates must be fluent in written and spoken English and hold a supervisory construction role.

Course Content

·  The Health and Safety at Work Act

·  Specific site issues that challenge supervisors on a daily basis

·  Effective toolbox talks

·  Supervision of occupational health

·  Behavioural safety.

The course also includes publications, registration and certification.

Exam

SSSTS Assessment will be by an exam paper and the completion of a case study exercise and trainer review.  The examination demonstrates to external bodies that the certificate is only awarded to successful delegates following both an assessment and examination.  Delegates are expected to be interactive during the course and there is also a mandatory toolbox talk to be completed.

Certification

It takes approximately 6-8 weeks for the CITB to issue certification. This CITB SSSTS Certificate will be valid for 5 years.
