Who Should Attend?
This two-day refresher course is for delegates who have previously passed the full five-day (SMSTS) or subsequent two-day Refresher course and can provide proof of attendance.
It aims to bring their health and safety knowledge up to date, as well as giving a thorough overview of legislative changes and their impact in the workplace. The course includes a wide range of topics, some building on those contained within the five-day course programme and others introducing new subjects.
It will enable them to identify, control and minimise the environmental impacts of their work and where possible identify environmental improvement opportunities.
This course is designed for delegates that have already passed the 5 day SMSTS, with the aim of updating delegates on changes to legislation and how this could impact on them and their workplace.
Course Content:
The course will provide an overview of past topics as stated below as well as new topics.
- CDM
- Excavations and demolition
- Site set up
- Working in confined spaces
- Scaffolding
- Working at height
- Asbestos
- COSHH
- Method Statements and Risk Assessment
All of the course materials are included in the price of the course to be used for the duration of the course. Candidates will be provided with a copy of the CITB Construction Skills GE700 manual.
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years.
Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.

Please note that at the London venue, parking is available off site in the side street and Brixton tube station is approximately a five minute walk away.
Coffee, tea and biscuits will be provided on the course however, delegates will need to bring their own lunch. Please note that there are several takeaways and cafes near the London venue.
