Our CITB SMSTS Refresher Course is for construction site managers, agents, quantity surveyors, construction directors and project directors, and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling, and administering groups of staff and workforce.
This is a two-day refresher of our full Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course. It updates your knowledge of your responsibilities for site safety, health, welfare, and the environment
Course contents:
• The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
• Risk assessment and method statements
• Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
• Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
• Behavioural safety
• Occupational health
• Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction
This course is aimed at those who currently hold a valid SMSTS certificate. Delegates must be able to read, write and understand English to attend the course.
A valid SMSTS certificate gained in the last five years, photographic ID and the delegates national insurance number must be provided on the first day of the course.
Duration and Assessment:
2 Days (This is a highly interactive course taught through case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual or group presentations. Each delegate must be interactive throughout the course and pass a multiple-choice assessment).
