Description
This course is designed for site managers, agents and persons who are or will be responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workforce.The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects that affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a good health and safety culture among the workforce and on site.
This course is endorsed by the Major Contractors Group as the standard training for all Site Managers working on MCG sites.
Aims
To help site managers, agents and supervisors to:
- Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management or supervisory role
- Develop an understanding of responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare
- Recognise and maintain a safe site whilst keeping work efficient, economical and productive
Course Content
To ensure that they contribute to the safety of the workplace and that at the end of the course all delegates will :
- Implement all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects them during their daily work
- Implement new guidance and industry best practice
- State their duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and the environment
Certification
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years.
Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.
All delegates must bring photographic proof of identification to the course.
