Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for site managers, agents and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workforce.
The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.
Course Aims:
The course aims to help site managers, agents and supervisors to:
- Manage health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management or supervisory role.
- Develop an understanding of responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare.
- Recognise a safe site is efficient, economical and productive.

DAY 1
- Introductions and objectives
- Questionnaire ‘What do you know?’
- Health and Safety: Facts and figures, accident prevention. H&S system in the UK
- Health and Safety Legislation
- Health and Safety and the Manager
- Exercise 1 : Implementing Health and Safety Legislation
DAY 2
- Exercise 1 : Report back and discussion
- Working at Height
- The Working Environment
- Management of contractors
- Health and Safety management for plant, equipment and systems of work
- Exercise 2 : Managers and Supervisors responsibilities
DAY 3
- Exercise 2 : Report back and discussion
- Health and Safety management on site
- Monitoring Health and Safety
- Exercise 3 : Site Briefing
DAY 4
- Exercise 3: Report back and discussion
- Health and Safety Communication training

Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will achieve a CITB certificate valid for 5 years.
Entry Requirements:
- No formal qualifications or experience are necessary. Candidates should ensure that they attend the Site Safety Plus course most relevant to their job role (i.e. Supervisor or Managers).
- Literacy and language comprehension are important requirements on all courses.
- Any physical impairment or literacy issues should be discussed with the trainer prior to making a booking so we can best accommodate your needs.
