CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme - SMSTS

Course overview

The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction and civil engineering industries. It highlights the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of the necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a health and safety culture among the workforce.

Who needs this qualification?

The course is designed for site managers, agents and persons who are, or are about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff and workforce.

Why is this training important?
Of all the industries in the United Kingdom, the construction is the largest. There can also be a great deal of danger involved in the construction industry, if proper rules and regulations are not followed, so there is a need for employees to be trained in health and safety.

Learning outcomes
- Implement all health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects them during their daily work
- Implement new guidance and industry best practice
- State their duties and responsibilities with regards to health, safety, welfare and environment

Course details

- This course is run over five days
- Delegates will receive all relevant material for use during the course
- Successful delegates will also receive an Accredited CITB Certificate in the post
- All courses are fully evaluated by the CITB
