What’s the course all about?
The nationally recognised Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) ConstructionSkills Site Safety Plus accredited SMSTS training course is an essential part of modern day Site Manager’s safety training.
What will I learn?
This course is designed for Site Managers, agents and persons who are, or about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering groups of staff in the workforce. It will help you to manage health and safety on construction projects in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management or supervisory role. This course has gained prominence just lately with the introduction of the amended CDM 2015 Regulations.
Exactly What Will I Do?
The course covers:
- All relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working the building construction and civil engineering industries
- The need for risk assessment in the workplace
- Implementing necessary control measures
- Successful communication to sustain a health and safety culture amongst the workforce
It will help site managers, agents and supervisors to:
- Manage health and safety onsite in accordance with current legal provisions, and within the context of their management of the supervisory role
- Develop an understanding of responsibilities and accountability for site health, safety and welfare
- Recognise that a safe site can be efficient, economical and productive
Who should attend?
Site Managers, agents and persons who are, or about to be, responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering construction projects.
Student Requirements: No previous training required although previous attendance on safety training courses would be an advantage.

How many will be there? Maximum of 20
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years.
Please note that as of the 1st January 2016, CITB Site Management / Site Supervisor certificates will no longer have a six month grace period and candidates will need to attend a Refresher course before the expiry date of their original certificate.
