This course is designed for site managers, agents and persons who are responsible for planning, organising, monitoring, controlling and administering a workforce.
The course covers all relevant legislation and other aspects which affect safe working in the building, construction, and civil engineering industries. The course focuses on the need for risk assessment in the workplace, the implementation of necessary control measures and adequate communication to sustain a safe practice in the workplace.

It is intended for project managers, site managers and supervisors as well as proprietors of small to medium companies. Client-based personnel also benefit by attending the course.
Aims:
The course aims to give an understanding of delegates` responsibilities and accountability for site safety, health and welfare, current health and safety legislation including risk assessment.
Content:
The course covers the Health and Safety at Work Act; Regulations relevant to the construction industry; Site set-up; Risk assessments/method statements; Scaffolding; Electricity; Excavations; Demolition; Confined spaces; as well as Recent changes in accepted working practices.
Course Method:
Tutorials, individual and group assessed exercises, continuous assessment and end-of-course examination.

Successful participants receive the CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme certificate which is valid for 5 years.
Assessment Method:
Please note that that this course can be run as a block of 5 consecutive days or 1 day per week for 5 weeks.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for five years
