The Safety Harness & Leading Edge Training course is designed to educate the delegate on the range of harnesses, set up and associated tools relating to working at height on an adjustable lanyard or horizontal safety line. Course Objectives:
By the end of the course the delegate will be able to: - Conduct the relevant safety checks for each piece of equipment in line with the relevant guidlines - Dismantle and set up a horizontal safety line - Select the appropriate fall protection equipment for the task they are conducting - Choose the correct length of line for their adjustable lanyard - Use a range of anchor systems and communal fall arrest blocks
Course Contents:
- Fall Arrest Lanyards - Personal fall arrest blocks - Full body fall harnesses - Fixed lanyards - Restraint lanyards - Adjustable lanyards
Assessment:
The course contains a mixture of theory and practical based learning. The theory element will contain a range of tutorials and classroom discussions. Delegates are required to complete a 20-question multiple choice theory exam, they will need to get a score of 80% to successfully pass the course. They will also be assessed through a practical exam. The delegate will show their ability to inspect, assemble and dismantle a temporary horizontal safety line.
Certification:
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive an in-house accredited certificate which is recommended to be retaken after 2-3 years
