SA008 - Cable Installation Over LV Power Crossings

Course Aims

• Know relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice when installing and recovering telecommunications cables crossing above low voltage power lines
• Be able to carry out safe use of equipment and methods for installing telecommunication cables crossing above low voltage power lines
• Be able to work safely when installing or recovering telecommunications cables crossing above low voltage power lines
• Know the emergency and reporting procedures in case of emergency or failure.

Course Content

This accreditation aims to give learners knowledge, understanding and basic skills in the cable installation over LV power crossings. It sets out the skills, knowledge and understanding to support the individual to use correct equipment and methods to carry out this task safely.

Pre-requisite

This accreditation is available to anyone over the age of 16 who is capable of reaching the required standard. There are no barriers that restrict access or progression thereby promoting equal opportunity. It is expected however that learners will have a level of literacy adequate to cope with the assessment.
