Course objectives

Delegates will:
- Learn how to correctly and safely use Cat and Genny equipment to find underground cables and pipes.
- Gain knowledge and understanding of HSG47 – Avoiding Danger from Underground Services.

Course Content

- Understand requirements and safe techniques laid down in HSG47
- Location of street lighting cables, bends, junctions and utilities
- Hazard identification and the risks associated with them
- Reading and interpreting site plans
- Safe working practices
- Practical use of equipment
