Course Overview
The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety certificate is specifically aimed at people who are involved in the management of health and safety at work in the construction industry.
Who Should Attend
The course is designed to provide managers, supervisors, designers and CDM Co-ordinators from the Construction Industry or other related sectors with the skills and knowledge to manage risks effectively. The qualification is referred to as a key competence requirement in the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007.
Many people take the NEBOSH Construction Certificate as a first step in a career in construction health and safety. It provides a valuable overview, and is a sound basis for further professional study.
Objectives
By the end of the course candidates will be able to:
- understand and apply the basic principles of managing health and safety
- be aware of employers responsibilities to employees and others
- assess risk within the workplace and apply effective control measures
- understand how to manage common hazards in the workplace
- ensure adequate training and safety information is available
- set health and safety objectives and to plan effectively
- investigate the causes of accidents and take appropriate action
Content of Course
The NEBOSH Construction Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. No previous health and safety knowledge is required but candidates should note the assessment includes a requirement to write a short report based on an inspection of thier workplace.

Unit NCC2: Health and Safety Practical Application
Examination / Assessments Information
Units NGC1 and NCC1 are taught units each assessed by a two-hour written examination. Each written examination consists of ten ‘short-answer’ questions and one ‘long-answer’ question.
Unit NCC2 is a two-hour practical assessment and report undertaken in the candidate's own workplace. This unit is marked by the Course Provider.
