The NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management provides a broad understanding of environmental issues that affect workplaces and enables the risks that arise to be managed effectively. As well as covering a range of workplace environmental hazards, impacts and methods of control, it includes the UK, EU and international references relating to the management of this important risk.

This qualification covers a range of topics including Environmental Management Systems, sources and use of energy, energy efficiency, control of pollution, dealing with environmental emergencies and also UK, EU and international references to the management of environmental risk.
The qualification is divided into two assessed units, each of which is assessed separately. Assessment is by one written examination (Unit EC1) and a work-based practical examination (Unit EC2). All units must be completed within 5 years to achieve the full NEBOSH National Environmental Certificate.
