What Does the Qualification Cover?
The qualification covers the practical issues of managing environmental risk. The syllabus takes a risk management approach, based around best practice and international industry standards, including:
- Environmental Management Systems and aspect identification
- Sources and use of energy and energy efficiency
- Control of pollution
- Planning for and dealing with environmental emergencies.
- Learners will learn how to carry out an environmental review of the workplace and prepare a report to management regarding the review with recommendations for improvement

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
It is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Important note: NEBOSH Health and Safety Management for Construction (UK) is a standalone qualification. This means that you will not be able to use units from other NEBOSH qualifications against any part of this qualification.
Assessment
This course is assessed by a 2 two-hour exam and a practical project.
The exam is conducted at the centre where you studied EC1 and the project is completed in your own workplace.
The project should take no longer than a few hours to complete and you will have 10-days from the end of the course to return it to us.
Results and Certification
Those who successfully complete the course and pass the assessments are awarded the official NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management.
All results for assessments should be received within 50 working days from the date of the examination or submission of the practical risk assessment. The specific date will be provided on examination entry confirmation forms.
Certificates will be posted direct to learners by us upon receipt from NEBOSH.
