Introduction:

Health and Safety appointed representatives who work in the Construction Industry are faced with a constant battle against ever changing Health and Safety legislation and the impact on their respective organisations. In addition EC regulations stipulate that Health and Safety representatives must be “competent” to perform the role.

The NEBOSH Construction certificate is a leading award in Construction health and safety and is designed to provide a sound breadth of underpinning knowledge that will enable people to discharge their legal duties more effectively with regard to health and safety in construction.

Who Should Attend:

Site managers, health and safety advisors and employee representatives in the construction industry and any personnel working under CDM regulations 2105. The NEBOSH Construction Certificate is a qualification both for those with construction management responsibilities and for those who are required to provide routine, day to day advice of health, safety and welfare in construction work

Unit NCC1: Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities

- Construction Law and Management
- Construction Site – Hazards and Risk Control
- Vehicle and Plant Movement – Hazards and Risk Control
- Musculoskeletal Hazards and Risk Control
- Work Equipment – Hazards and Risk Control
- Electrical Safety
- Fire Safety
- Chemical and Biological Health – Hazards -
and Risk Control
- Physical and Psychological Health – Hazards and Risk Control
- Working at Height – Hazards and Risk Control
- Excavation Work and Confined Spaces – Hazards and Risk Control
- Demolition and Deconstruction – Hazards and Risk Control

Assessed by a two hour written exam.

Unit NCC2: Construction Health and Safety Practical Application

Assessed by a two hour work based practical assessment.

Course duration:

Fifteen days in three one week blocks followed by revision/practical day and a one day exam.
