Course Title: The West of England Moving and Handling Trainers Foundation Course
 

Designed for:

This course is aimed at individuals with a minimum of two years care/nursing experience within their particular field prior to attending this course. It is ideal for those working within a hospital, residential or community setting where client/patient handling is part of the daily routine.

How do we approach the west of England moving and handling trainer’s foundation course?

Trainers employ a wide range of teaching techniques to meet the needs of individual delegates attending courses. This course programme, endorsed by College of Occupational Therapists (COT) follows a set syllabus and contains the most up to date information available including:

- Bio-mechanics and back care
- Ergonomics
- Developing training programmes

- Hoisting and other mechanical aids

Owing to the practical nature of this course a basic level of general fitness is required. Delegates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline. 

Duration: This course is of six days duration.
 
Methods of Assessment: Theory and Practical Assessment

Course Materials and Certification: 

We’ll provide delegates with a variety of printed course materials including workbooks and handouts. On successful completion of this course delegates will receive a printed certificate endorsed by COT.
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
