Overview
This qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification for those working as a site manager in building and civil engineering, highways maintenance and repair, residential development, conservation or demolation.
Achievement of this qualification provides a candidate with proof of competency across a broad range of issues relating to construction site management. These include, Health and Safety, risk assessment, resource management and project management.
These generic competencies are allied to successful achievement in one of the following pathways:
- Building and Civil Engineering
- Highways and Maintenance Repair
- Residential Development
- Conservation
- Demolition
- Tunnelling
Learning Outcomes
To achieve the qualification you will complete eight mandatory units:
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Allocating work and checking people's performance in the workplace
- Establishing, implementing and maintaining systems for managing health, safety and welfare
- Evaluating and selecting work methods to meet project or operational requirements
- Monitoring construction related project activities in the workplace
- Controlling project progress against agreed programmes in the workplace
- Controlling project progress against agreed quality standards in the workplace
- Maintaining personal development in the workplace
Candidates will also need to complete units relevant to one of the 6 specific pathways.
You will work with an assessor to complete a portfolio of evidence that confirms you have met the requirements of the qualification.

Entry Requirements
In order to meet the assessment criteria candidates should be working in the role of construction site manager in building and civil engineering, highways maintenance and repair, residential development, conservation or demolition.
Centres should carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.
Candidates must provide a copy of their CV at the time of booking.
