This qualification is aimed those looking to undertake the role of an emergency first aider in a forestry and/or agricultural context as required by the Forestry Commission. The qualification also meets the requirements for Emergency First aid at work as outlined in the Health and Safety (First-aid) Regulations 1981.
Intended Audience
The QA Level 3 Award in Forestry First Aid +F (RQF) qualification is ideal for those who work or intend to work in a forestry, agricultural or remote environment, such as tree surgeons and farmers.
Course Overview
This one day, yet informative course provides Learners with the knowledge and practical competencies needed for the treatment of injuries and diseases that could occur whilst working in a forestry/agricultural specific environment. Topics covered are: extreme hot and cold temperatures, managing catastrophic bleeding, crush injuries and Lyme disease.
This qualification is designed to accompany an Emergency First Aid at Work qualification and has been specifically developed to meet the recommendations of the Forestry Commission First Aid at Work Policy.
This qualification is suitable for learners over the age of 16. It is delivered over 1 full day and assessed by a multiple choice exam and practical assessment.
