IOSH Safety For Senior Executives - 1 Day

Audience:
Directors, Senior and Top Level Managers.

Objectives:
The objective of the Safety for Senior Executives course is to develop an understanding of the legal, moral and economic health and safety issues and how they influence strategic thinking in the development of holistic risk management practices.

Course Structure:
The course is arranged into modules. Topics include: 
- The moral, legal and business case for effective health and safety management outlining the role of senior executives 
- The relevance of corporate governance to health and safety 
- Raising awareness of the consequences of failing to manage health and safety and the implications of enforcement and litigation 
- Understanding the potential for personal injury litigation and liability insurance 
- The requirement for effective health and safety management, its principles and its strategic implementation 
- Recognising the value of people and the factors that affect their performance 
- Measuring and improving performance

Assessment of the Course:
Understanding of the course material is evaluated by means of an assessment paper and a project completed on the day. Successful completion results in the award of an Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Certificate.
