Course Aims:
This three-day course is designed as an introduction to health and safety in the workplace. It focuses on training Managers/Supervisors to apply sound management principles to health and safety issues.
Course Content:
The course covers:
• the understanding of how health and safety can and should be treated as an integral part of a Manager's/Supervisors work.
• Assessing and controlling risks.
• Recognising hazards in the workplace and the type of action needed to control and manage them.
• How to carry out and complete risk assessments.
• Understanding why accidents and incidents should be investigated, why things go wrong and how to carry out an investigation.
• How effective communication can help improve heath and safety in the workplace for those that work for them, with those whom they report to and with specialist practitioners that they may approach for guidance and support.
