Introduction 

 
The one day CITB course is for those who require the CSCS Green Labourer Card to get on aconstruction site, or a basic Health & Safety Awareness Qualification for their chosen employment. 
 
This one-day CITB Health and safety awareness (HSA) course is designed to aid the understanding ofpotential hazards the construction worker may face on site. It provides a practical summary of health, safety, welfare and environmental issues. It identifies thedelegate’s responsibilities for looking after themselves and others, outlines the employer’s duties andexplains what should be done if the worker thinks that anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk. The course is an ideal foundation for those wishing to obtain an industry site card. It is also an alternative route to the QCF Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a ConstructionEnvironment for the CSCS Labourer Card. The course provides health and safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as standard training forall operatives on site. 
 
Entry requirements: 
 
Delegates must be competent in English at operative level. The course content is suited to all abilitylevels. 
 
Content

- To ensure the individual responsibilities of the worker are understood.  
- Why they are carrying out their identified duties. 
- What is expected of them. 
- How they contribute to the safety of the workplace. 
 
Participants 
 
This course is for those who have entered, or are about to enter, the construction and civil engineeringindustry as a member of the workforce.
 
 The one day CITB Health & Safety Awareness is used as one of the steps towards gaining your GreenLabourers card. 
 
Certification 
 
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) Site Safety Plus certificate.
