The CITB Health & Safety Awareness one day course provides a basic introduction to understanding potential construction hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer’s responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
At the end of the course delegates will have an understanding of:
· the need to prevent accidents
· health and safety law
· how your role fits into the control and management of the site
· risk assessments and method statements
· performing safely and asking for advice
· how to report unsafe acts to prevent an accident
Delegates must be able to read, write and understand English to attend the course. Photographic ID and the delegates national insurance number must be provided on the first day of the course.
Duration and Assessment:
The course lasts one day (Each delegate must be interactive throughout the course and pass a multiple-choice assessment)

The course is for delegates who require the CSCS Green Labourer Card to get on a construction site. It is ideal for those who work in construction or are looking to start a career in construction.
