Who Should Attend: This course is for you if you’re considering, or are already working within the construction and civil engineering industry, and wish to develop your knowledge base.
Course Aims: The CITB CSkills Health and Safety Awareness training course highlights potential hazards when working on site and provides practical advice on keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. It covers your individual and employer responsibilities, including what you can do if you think anyone’s health and safety is being put at risk.
It can also be used as a precursor for progression to the Site Supervisor’s Safety Training course for those wishing to further their career within health and safety in the construction and civil engineering industries
On successful completion, delegates should be able to: - Understand the need to prevent accidents
- Have an understanding of health and safety law
- Understand how their role fits into the control and management of the site
- Prepare risk assessments and method statements
- Report unsafe acts to prevent an accident.
Assessment:
There is a practical element to this course where you will undertake a classroom based exercise.
Certification: Upon successful completion, delegates will achieve a CITB accredited certificate which is valid for 5 years.

Additional Information: The course can be the first step towards a CSCS Labourers Card (Green Card) and to the progressive CITB Site Safety Plus courses that range from the training of operatives through to Supervisors, Site Managers and Directors Health and Safety courses.
