This course is for those that have previously completed the First Aid at Work - 3 Day Full Qualification course and wish to renew their certification. Aims:
- To attain knowledge and the practical competence required to deal with a range of workplace first aid situations - Meet employers legal obligations - Compliant with Resuscitation council (UK) 2015 guidelines
Course Contents:
This course will provide the necessary refresher training required to continue to be a qualified First Aider. It will cover legal duties, provide and understanding and requirements in an unfortunate situation.
– The role of the First Aider – Managing an emergency – Communication and casualty care – Asthma – Bleeding (minor and severe) – Bone, muscle and joint injuries – Burns and scalds – Chest pains (including heart attack) – Choking (adult and babies) – Eye injuries – Fainting – Defibrillator prompts and how to respond – Head injuries – Health and safety (first aid) regulations – Low blood sugar – Poisoning – Resuscitation (adult CPR) – Seizures – Severe allergic reaction – Shock – Spinal injuries – Stroke – Unresponsive casualty – Defibrillator pad placement
Certification:
Certification of the course is valid for 3 years upon completion. On completion candidates will be awarded a First Aid at Work Level 3 certificate by First Aid Awards (FAA) who are regulated by Ofqual and SQA Accreditation.
Pre-requisites:
All delegates must have previously completed the full three day full qualification First Aid course and have proof of previous certification.
