Who Should Attend?
This course is designed for those who currently hold a FAW qualification which is due to expire. The following points must be considered before attendance:
A FAW qualification can be renewed by attending the course without question, if it’s no more one month past expiry date. If the qualification expired more than one month but no more than 3 months, then a First Aider can still requalify by attending a 2-day course providing ‘Special considerations’ have been applied.
Special considerations are:
A signed letter from the employer to the training provider stating reasons why the delegate is suitably experienced to attend the 2-day and does not require the full 3-day course
OR
A decision can be made at the trainer’s discretion after discussion with the employer/delegate about suitability to attend a 2-day course.
If 3 months has lapsed the delegate must attend a 3 day First Aid at Work course. It is important to remember, that as soon as the certificate expires, the delegate is considered no longer competent to act as First Aider in the work place. Requalification ideally should be arranged BEFORE certificate expires.
Course Duration: 2 days – minimum 12 hours, ideally run two on consecutive days
Maximum number of delegates ratio: 12:1
Course Schedule: Classroom based theory & practical training and assessment

Certification: The successful delegate will receive a certificate of training which will be valid for 3 years. Annual refresher courses are recommended.
