Entry into Confined Spaces with Escape Breathing Apparatus

This one day course is predominantly intended for practical users who need to enter spaces which are substantially enclosed and where there is a potentially hazardous working environment. It would also benefit Managers, Supervisors, Engineers etc (who may have need to control work in these locations). This course can be delivered either at your venue or at our dedicated training centre in Staffordshire and is in line with the Confined Spaces Regulation 1997. This course can also be accredited by Training Qualifications UK (TQUK).

Course Objectives

This course is designed to ensure that delegates who need to enter such workplaces understand the requirements of the law, the need for risk assessments and safe systems of work and how to apply these practically. This includes competent use of the appropriate equipment, to enable entry to be made safely. We also include working at height and harness training so you are getting three certificates in one.

Course Content

This is delivered in line with the new National Occupational Standards and the Approved Code of Practice 2014 for confined spaces.

• Be able to prepare to work safely in confined spaces
• Be able to enter and exit confined spaces safely
• Be able to use equipment and tools safely and in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
• Be able to follow procedures and work safely
• Be able to identify and deal with problems
• Be able to complete the work and reporting procedures
• Be able to deal with emergencies
• Additional unit – working as top person for a confined space

Certificates last for three years from date of training.

Delegates must bring their own PPE, which is not only clean but in suitable condition, if there are any issues with this then we can provide a limited amount of PPE ourselves.

Delegates must be fit and well and able to participate in the practical session.
