Course Content:
This is a one day course covering the basics of life saving First Aid. A large emphasis is placed on the practical skills of CPR, the recovery position, bandages and slings. We also include the new instruction on tourniquets and haemostatic dressings within the course in line with preparations for the upcoming Martyns law.
All our courses provide a take-away first aid handbook so students may refresh their knowledge on their own time.
Prior to attend the one-day practical course, candidates will need to complete a mandatory short e-learning module.
Assessment and Certification:
This is an RQF certified course, meaning it is accepted by regulated employers, and lasts for 3 years. There is a practical exam and multiple choice exam which may be paper based, or electronic, course dependent.
Course Pre-requisites:
Please note that the e-learning module must be completed prior to the course start date. Failure to do so will mean that candidates are unable to complete the classroom based element of the course and will automatically fail the course.
We must inform all students that it is a mandatory requirement that they are able to fulfil the ability to conduct all physical activities according to regulatory requirements. This will entail performing CPR on the floor while on your knees, and being able to move someone on the floor into the recovery position.
We encourage all our students to wear casual comfortable clothes to our courses, bearing in mind the physical elements of the course.
All students must bring valid photographic ID to the course, this may be passport, driving licence, citizen card, military ID or any registered licence.
Additional Information:
As of the 1st January 2024, this course will also include a complimentary mini-bleed kit for all candidates. Please note that this offer may be withdrawn at any time.
