Course Overview
This one day Emergency First Aid qualification is the most popular first aid qualification and is the choice of many employers to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Health and Safety (first aid) Regulations. It is ideal for smaller workplaces that present fewer health and safety risks.
This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.
Course Content:
The content of this course provides basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following
• Managing an incident
• The priorities of first aid
• Treatment of an unconscious casualty
• Resuscitation, Heart Attacks, Strokes, Shock, Choking, Seizures, Bleeding, Asthma, Diabetes, Epilepsy
• Common workplace injuries
Course Objectives:
The Emergency First Aid at Work course syllabus has been initially designed in consultation with the HSE and takes in the highest industry recommendations such as the British Resuscitation Council.
By the end of the course learners will:
• Understand the role and responsibilities of the first aider
• Be able to assess an emergency safely
• Be able to place AED pads correctly
Additional Information:
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will receive a First Aid at Work certificate which is valid for 3 years and is accredited by SQA and Ofqual Certified.
