Who Should Attend?
This course is suitable for anyone who requires the basic knowledge of Emergency First Aid. Delegates must be at least 16 years of age for certification.
Course Aims & Objectives:
The purpose of the course is to give delegates an understanding of how to provide basic life saving first aid treatment in the workplace.
By the end of the course delegates will:
- Understand the Health & Safety regulations
- Be able to administer basic first aid
- Understand what to do and what not to do in an emergency situation
- Be able to maintain and use the first aid box and understand its contents
- Be able to keep accurate records of incidents in the log book

- Health & Safety (first aid) regulations 1981
- The role of the first aider
- Resuscitation
- Choking
- Cardiopulmonary Resusciation (CPR) and Automated Externaol Defibrillation (AED)
- Catastrophic Bleeding (this is risk rated so will be taught if required)

Certification:
Delegates are assessed throughout the course by the trainer and need to complete a written assessment at the end of the course. Successful delegates will receive a QA Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. Certificates are valid for 3 years and then delegates will need to re sit the qualification to remain qualified (this must be attended no later than 28 days after the expiry on the original certificate).
