All candidates must have passed the CITB Construction Skills Health & Safety Test within 2 years to attend the course.


Course overview 
• Conduct pre-operational checks to equipment 
• Prepare the excavator for site travel 
• Manoeuvre the excavator in a confined space 
• Set the equipment for excavation 
• Understand the hazards of overhead cables and underground services 
• Carry out various excavations including trenches and square boxes 
• Excavate, grade and backfill using the excavator 
• Remove and attach different size/type buckets 
• Place spoil/material into various types of skips, hoppers or dumpers 
• Conduct isolation procedures

The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
