Course content
Entry requirements
In order to be eligible to undertake CPCS testing, candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) touch-screen-test within 2 years.
Good understanding of spoken and written English.
Assessment
A mix of classroom-based teaching and practical exercises, followed by one day assessment - CPCS technical tests.
Certification
Successful candidates will obtain a CPCS ‘Construction Plant Competence Scheme’ card on completion, if they don’t currently hold a relevant S/NVQ they’ll be issued with a CPCS Red Trained Operator card (2-year validity). During the 2 year lifespan of the card candidates will need to work towards the relevant plant operations NVQ that will enable them to upgrade their Blue Competent Operator card (5 year validity).
