This Foundation / Novice course is designed for Slinger/Signallers who have had no or very little experience of slinging and signalling. The Endorsement A is aimed at those that Sling with static cranes, mobile cranes, excavators or telehandlers.
Aim
To instruct delegates how to safely Sling & Signal on construction sites, to ensure compliance with the law and secure the health and safety of all employees and of those who may be affected by their actions.
Requirements
Please be advised that in order to undertake this course you will need to supply the following information at the time of booking:
- Candidate’s full name - Candidate's date of birth - National insurance number - CSCS number - The date the Health, Safety & Environment Test was passed
Course Content
- Establish the weight and dimensions of loads and communicate this information to the crane operator - Select appropriate lifting tackle and attach and detach it correctly and safely - Use clear and unambiguous signals to direct the actions of a crane moving loads of various weights and dimensions - Determine the serviceability of lifting accessories, and maintain and store them.
Entry requirements
Please be advised that any candidate wishing to attend a CPCS course must hold a valid Health, Safety & Environment Test which has been taken within the last 2 years. Any candidate who books onto this course and does not hold this prior to the technical tests will be unable to sit the technical tests and will not be eligible for a refund.
Assessment and exams
The course is delivered through a combination of classroom and practical training. You will be assessed through theory and practical tests.
Qualifications/certification
CPCS Red Trained Operator Card (on successful completion of the CPCS Technical Tests).
The course either has new dates in data loading, or is only run as a dedicated or In Company course.
